At the forthcoming easyFairs® Process, Pack & Track Food events (for UK South held 23 & 24 May at Sundown Park, Esher and for UK North held 14 & 15 June at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton) Eriez Magnetics Europe will be showcasing a range of magnets and metal detectors for the prevention of metal contamination and protection of process machinery on Stands S220 & 410 respectively.

Making its debut at the shows will be the Xtreme Rare Earth (RE) Tube Magnet circuit – Eriez strongest tube magnet to date!  Not only does this model have a staggering 40% more pulling strength than Eriez standard RE tube magnets (and 18% more than Eriez Megastrength RE tube magnets), but users are likely to find it up to 300% stronger than older magnets currently struggling to keep the process flow clear of ferrous metal contamination.

For customers in the food process industry, the increased power of Xtreme RE magnets has a direct and positive impact on product purity and plant productivity.  The Xtreme circuit surpasses all previous models in its ability to attract and remove fine iron and weakly magnetic contaminants from product flows.

The champion of this new Xtreme system will be Captain Xtreme – a caped crusader who will be challenging his arch rival, Dr Irony, and his minions, the menacing Ferricles.   Captain Xtreme and his foes will shortly be featuring in various comic strip ads and will making their mark at both easyFairs® food trade shows in May and June.

As part of its product line-up, Eriez will be displaying a P Grate and a CD Grate Magnet, both incorporating. Xtreme RE magnets.  The P Grate has a flexible design consisting of a series of parallel magnetic tubes welded to perpendicular stainless steel support bars and can be constructed to fit all shapes of hoppers.  The CD Grate is a special unit intended for easy installation in a vertical or inclined round pipe.  Also on view will be an Eriez RE Plate Magnet with a double tapered face to better capture and retain fine ferrous contamination and prevent backflow of contaminants into the clean product.  An Eriez Model B Magnetic Trap will round off the magnet display.  The Eriez Magnetic Trap is designed to specifically protect against fine and tramp iron contamination found in liquids, such as cocoa slurry, juices, soups, etc., which are transported in pipelines.  Magnetic Traps are constructed from tube magnets which protrude transversally to the direction of product flow.  The permanent magnetic element can be either ferrite or of a stronger Rare Earth type, the selection of which depends on the nature and quantity of contamination encountered.  Other than selecting between different tube magnet strengths, Eriez Magnetic Traps are available in a range of sizes to handle small through to large capacities and in a variety of designs, including Easy Clean and Water Jacketed models.   The hot water or steam jacketed Magnetic Trap is used in pipelines carrying liquids which must be maintained above a certain temperature, such as chocolate or honey.

On the flip side of the same coin, metal detectors for both vertical (drop-through) or conveyor belt applications, will be exhibited, demonstrating that Eriez can offer a comprehensive solution to all types of metallic contamination.  The E-Z Tec 9000 metal detector with rectangular search head in stainless steel finish will be displayed mounted on a stainless steel conveyor, an integrated system designed to meet the stringent sanitary requirements of a washdown, hygienic food processing environment.  The hallmarks of the E-Z Tec 9000 metal detector are its reliability, easy serviceability and value for money.  To eradicate metal contamination in gravity feed pipelines, an Eriez E-Z Tec 9200 metal separator with stainless steel search head and reject mechanism will be launched at the easyFairs® shows.  Its high speed reject mechanism ensures minimal wastage of good, clean product.  It is a unit which is easy to incorporate into existing equipment and is easy to remove for cleaning purposes.

Eriez also designs and manufactures a wide choice of vibratory feeders from high speed models, ideal for the packaging applications because of their quick stop/start characteristics, to high deflection models, which operate at a high amplitude, thus allowing them to feed faster and effortlessly handle flaky, leafy or powdery products.   An example of an HS Model Vibratory Feeder will be placed on display at both shows.
