Karl Knauer received the German Packaging Award 2006 for his security system Karl Knauer Ident. The packing solution combines IT with print know-how. Imprinted security codes are queried via Internet. Dealers such as users receive immediately certainty whether they have an original or a falsification on hand. Karl Knauer is not only responsible for the packing development and - production. Karl Knauer also offers the generation of the security codes, the care of the IT-safety system as well as the support of the customers' website to on-line inquiry. For the first time Karl Knauer realized the system for the South German automobile supplier NPR OF Europe. NPR could merge thereby dealers and users actively into the procedure against counterfeiters. After only 9 months the number of the product falsifications decreased. Karl Knauer Ident is also to be used now to trace the flow of goods.

Karl Knauer received the World Star 2006 for his security system Karl Knauer Ident. The World Packaging Organisation (WPO) awards annually the WorldStar to the most creative and most innovative packaging solutions of the year. All WorldStar winners will be formally honoured in Chicago, USA in the evening of May 15, 2007.

Only winners of a national packaging award are allowed to take part at the WorldStar. Karl Knauer was awarded with the German Packaging Award in 2006 for Karl Knauer Ident by the German Packaging Institute (dvi).
