IMEC designs and manufactures high quality case packers, palletisers and conveyors for material handling. IMEC`s staff is at the customer`s disposal, in order to analyze the productive requirements and to follow the development of the lay-out in every detail.
Case Packing System - Flexipack
Flexipack is a vertical case packing system completely made in stainless steel, and designed to handle both cases and trays. Easily adjustable to different kinds of products, its peculiar features change according with the different needs of production.
Flexipack pick and place robot may be equipped with suction cups or clamps, depending on the product to be packed. The size change requires just two simple and quick operations: replacement of the product picking plate (this operation is very simple since there are no pipes inside the plate itself) and choice of the new size on the PLC.
Palleting System - Minipal
Minipal is the palletising system that IMEC recommends to companies that need to contain the end of line operations in small spaces. It is a system with electrical axes, with the option of picking head rotation and is able to handle up to 15 boxes/min. The picking can be done by suction cups or pincers, according to the kind of product to be palletised. The standard system includes a loading conveyor (to be connected with the existing lines) and a second conveyor for the pallet loading and pallet unloading, operations done by the operator.
Besides a completely automatic version is available, that includes a pallet store for about 10 pieces and an automatic system for pallet feeding. In this second case the operator has to only remove the full pallet.
Tray Forming and Packing System - Flexitray
Flexitray has been designed as a variant of the case packing system Flexipack, moreover it offers the possibility to form and fill carton trays in one system.
The standard equipment includes the following:
- Stainless steel frame
- Products feeding conveyor inclusive of the automations that allows for the forming of the pattern to be placed in the tray
- Cardboards magazine
- Tray forming and gluing system
- Trays conveyor equipped with the devices for the correct positioning of the tray for the filling phase
- Pick and place equipped with suction cups or pincers in order to place the products into the trays.
Flexitray can form up to 15 trays/min with a filling speed of 20 cycles/min.
Case Forming Filling and Sealing System - Flexicaser
Flexicaser is a compact case packing system that comprises the entire cycle of production of an ``American type`` carton. It was designed with the intention of keeping small overall dimensions since the phases of carton opening/filling/closing are carried out inside the same machine. The frame of the machine is in stainless steel and lexan, with features similar to the Flexipack.
Accumulation Conveyor Soft Touch
Soft Touch conveyor is the best solution to complex material handling and product accumulation problems. The conveying principle is as simple as effective. The rollers holding shafts are moved by elastic belts, which are driven by a drive shaft. The movement is related to the frictional coefficient between the rollers and the rollers holding shaft. Therefore items of different weight move at the same speed since the frictional coefficient, that remains even, adjusts automatically to the weight of the item to be conveyed.
Soft Touch provides gentle accumulation when the force (product stop, stationary upstream items, etc.) exceeds the frictional force between the rollers and the driven shaft. At this moment the effective torque is reduced to zero even though the shaft keeps turning. As a result, there is no relative motion between the bottom of the item and the surface of the conveying system. The benefits are plain. Not only damage to the accumulated items is entirely avoided, but the total line pressure is reduced to a small fraction to their total weight.
Soft touch is available with a stainless steel or aluminum frame and for wash down applications it is provided with special features.
