MOTOMAN Robotics Europe is a world leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of industrial robots and robotized automation systems for a wide range of applications.

Ten years ago MOTOMAN introduced the world's first simultaneous control of two robots, now our latest control system is capable of synchronised control of up to four robots or 36 axes in total.

MOTOMAN products and services are well established in Europe together with other parts of the world with more than 150.000 unit installations in full production (more than 15.000 units in Europe).

Our products and services are available in a number of countries through subsidiaries and qualified distributors, who offer technical support and commercial service.

MOTOMAN Robotics Europe AB was founded 30 years ago as a manufacturer and supplier of welding machinery, primarily to the automotive industry. The company became part of the Japanese electronics group Yaskawa Electric Corporation in the mid-1990s. MOTOMAN Robotics Europe AB head office for our European organisation is based in Kalmar, Sweden. Development and manufacturing mainly takes place in production units in Sweden and Germany.

Since MOTOMAN started in 1976, we have steadily developed as a robot supplier. As early as 1996, we introduced a solution for controlling several robots with a single control system. This has helped us achieve our current position as the world’s leading robot manufacturer.

MOTOMAN-EA1400N Robot

The MOTOMAN-EA1400N is a robot dedicated for arc welding applications. The welding cable is integrated in the robot arm and welding torch is mounted in-line with the turning axis. The position of the servo powered wire feeder combined with the short welding cable are important features for creating an overall compact build and trouble-free wire feeding.

HP-Series Welding Robots

Various parts include:

  • Servo powered wire feed unit for wire diameter 0.8 to 2.4 mm. Wire speed up to 35 m/min.
  • Air cooled / water cooled cable bundles with Motoman- or Euro-connector.
  • Breakaway torch mounts. The units flange complies with the ISO9409-1 to fit general robot standard.
  • Air/gas cooled welding torches for up to 400A at 60% duty cycle (350A continuous).

MOTOMAN positioners with up to 20 tons payload have a workpiece rotation of about one or two axes, and single- or multi station models. MOTOMAN tracks and gantry solutions for extending the robot's working range. All products are fully integrated in the robot's control system NX100.

One Axis Positioners, 0-1000 kg, 1-Station

SB-250 SX One Axis Positioner

This is one station positioner for workpieces requiring rotation about one axis. It is a stand alone positioner to be used without tailstock and suitable for integration in e.g. compact welding stations.

HSC One Axis Positioner

This is one station positioner for workpieces requiring rotation about one axis. It is a stand alone positioner to be used without tailstock and suitable for integration in e.g. compact welding stations.

HSD-500 SX One Axis Positioner

This is one station positioner for workpieces requiring rotation about one axis. It is equipped with a tailstock that can be moved manually along the centre beam. It is often used in pairs, which gives the operator opportunity to change workpiece in one positioner while the robot is welding on the other side.

HSB-1000 SX One Axis Positioner

This is a one station positioner for workpieces requiring rotation about one axis. To support long workpieces it is advisable to use a supplementary tailstock. The free standing SPB tailstock can be mounted directly on the floor at an appropriate distance from the positioner. The SPD tailstock is equipped with a dove-tail track from which it can be adjusted manually to a suitable distance from the positioner.

HSB-2000 SX One Axis Positioner

This is a one station positioner for workpieces requiring rotation about one axis. To support long workpieces it is advisable to use a supplementary tailstock. The free standing SPB tailstock can be mounted directly on the floor at an appropriate distance from the positioner.

This is a two station positioner for workpieces that require rotation about one axis. It has been designed for operator ease of use, with a suitable working height for loading/unloading the fixtures, and is delivered complete with an integrated anti-glare shield. The RM2...(STX)-series has a space saving design due to its vertical station changing, and a patented single motor drive.

RM2 TX One Axis Positioner

This is a two station positioner for workpieces that require rotation about one axis. It is delivered complete with an anti-glare shield. The positioner is placed on a foundation which gives the operator a suitable working height for loading/unloading.

During assembly it is possible to connect the robot stand(s) to the positioner so that it is possible to dismount and reassemble the station without losing the robot's reference points. The whole station can be moved with a large fork lift.

RM2 S3X One Axis Positioner

This is a two station positioner for workpieces that require rotation about one axis. It has been designed for operator ease of use, with a suitable working height for loading/unloading the fixtures, and is delivered with an anti-glare shield (not shown in the picture). The positioner has three servo motors which makes it possible to maintain the position of the fixture during rotation.

VMH S3X One Axis Positioner

This is a two station positioner for workpieces that require rotation about one axis. It has been designed for operator ease of use, with a suitable working height for loading/unloading the fixtures, and is delivered complete with the integrated anti-glare shield.

VMH-500 DD One Axis Positioner

This is a two station positioner for workpieces that require rotation about one axis. It has been designed for operator ease of use, with a suitable working height for loading/unloading the fixtures, and is delivered complete with an anti-glare shield.

TRD Pneumatic Floor Mounted Track

This is a pneumatic floor mounted track for a single robot. It can be used to transport a robot from one station to another, or to increase the robot’s working range e.g. when welding large objects.

TSL-600SN Servo Powered Floor Mounted Track

This is a servo powered floor mounted track with one robot carrier. It can be used to increase the robot’s working range e.g. when welding large objects. The TSL track is prepared for zeroing function.

The TSL-600SN track is only available in two, three or four meters total length.

Rotating Robot Base and Tracks 1000-5000 kg, Floor Mounted Tracks

TSL-1000SN Servo Powered Floor Mounted Track

This is a servo powered floor mounted track with one or two robot carriers. It can be used to transport a robot from one station to another, or to increase the robot’s working range e.g. when welding large objects. The TSL track is prepared for zeroing function.

Since the track is built in two- or four meter modules, it is easy to extend to a suitable length.

TSI Servo Controlled Track

This is a servo controlled track. This track is designed for carrying one or two carriages suitable to mount heavy robot types. TSI-track is built up by modules. Each module is 3 meters. The track is used to increase the working area of the robot (e.g. sliding along the positioner) or letting the robot operate two or several workstations. The motions of the track is synchronized with the robot.

Gantry Standard

TSG Gantry

This is a gantry designed for reliable, accurate and economic welding solutions for large components such as excavators, containers and earth moving equipment etc. The TSG-Gantry is servo powered and fully synchronized with the robot controller.

The gantry’s x-beam is built up by 3-meter modules to any desired length with a suitable number of supporting pillars.

In the twin or triple systems, with several robots applied to the x-beam, the robots can work together or independent of each other.

HD Gantry

The HD-Gantry has been designed to provide a reliable, accurate and economic welding solution for production of large components such as excavators, containers and earth moving equipment etc. The HD-Gantry is servo powered and fully synchronized with the robot controller.

The gantry’s x-beam is built up by 3-meter modules to any desired length with a suitable number of supporting pillars.

TSG Gantry

MOTOMAN software includes the MotoSim EG Off-line teaching system with 3D simulation, the JobEditor off-line robot programming software and the LadderEditor off-line PLC programming software.

MotoSim EG Off-Line Teaching System with 3D Simulation

Off-line teaching system with 3D simulation for MOTOMAN industrial robots. It reduces teaching time that requires an actual robot, supports improvement of productivity and ensures operator’s safety by enabling robot teaching on a personal computer.

MotoSim EG is an off-line programming and real time 3D simulation tool for MOTOMAN robots. The language used is INFORM, and it is possible to open robot
programs made for ERC-, MRC-, XRC- or NX100 controller.

MotoSim EG comes with a library of MOTOMAN robots and tools. With the included modeller it is also possible to make other models. The core graphics engine is the powerful HOOPS 3D, also used in many leading CAD/CAM products.

MotoSim EG supports import of 3D models in the following formats: hsf, hmf, rwx, 3ds and vrml. With the additional Inovate software (optional) it is possible also to handle formats like: sat (acis), x_t (parasolid), step, iges, dxf, obj, stl and Catia V4. Files can be transferred to the robot with a cf-card, or downloaded with communication software. However, for the NX100 control system it is possible to transmit files via a file transfer protocol. A program like JobEditor is recommended in order to be able to include INFORM- commands in the jobs with correct syntax.

Functions

All INFORM-commands can be used for robot programming off-line, although certain commands like “Search” or “ComarcOn” are not actually executed in the simulation. The simulation makes it possible to calculate cycle times; detect collision risks and visualize the robot’s path. Due to the RRS (Real Robot Simulation) module, which is the same calculation method as in real robots, MotoSim EG’s cycle time estimations have a deviation of accuracy that is less than 5%.

With MotoSim EG it is possible to export information as html-code. This makes it possible to look at 3D models in a web browser such as Explorer without MotoSim
software. This 3D model is possible to zoom in/out, rotate and to use a play button to animate the robot program.

Other programs can share information with MotoSim (OLE), which means that it is possible e.g. to create new software with C++.

Upgrading

All previous versions of MotoSim can be upgraded to MotoSim EG v. 2.10. New features in MotoSim EG 2.10 The Tool Work Panel has many improved functions for visualizing playback time and trace data. A new Job transfer function means that robot jobs can be transferred between robots in the simulation, with the possibility to also include shift variables.

JobEditor Off-Line Robot Programming Software

Off-line robot programming software that uses the INFORM language and a method identical to that of the programming pendant. Each robot's actual configuration can be imported so that robot programs can be created with necessary syntax control. Available for control systems XRC and NX100.

General Information

The JobEditor software makes it possible to create and edit robot jobs for the robot controller off-line. The language used is INFORM and robot jobs are created with
the same method as with the programming pendant. When the actual configuration for each robot is imported to the JobEditor it is also possible to create robot programs
with a syntax control that makes them free from errors.

It is not possible to communicate directly with the robot, which means that FDDWIN or Motoman Explorer must be used to transfer the files. However, for the NX100 control system it is possible to transmit files via a file transfer protocol. Available for the control systems MRC, XRC and NX100.

General Information

LadderEditor is an off-line PLC programming software with a graphic display of the ladder instructions. It is not possible to communicate directly with the robot, which means that FDDWIN or Motoman Explorer must be used to transfer the files. However, for the NX100 control system it is possible to transmit files via a file transfer protocol.
Available for control systems XRC and NX100.
