Subhead at Cartes 2006 in Paris, KÖRA-PACKMAT presents the high-speed personalization system Print M including a revolutionary hot stamping module with integrated foil saving function

KÖRA-PACKMAT, a German manufacturer of packaging and personalization systems, launches its newly developed high-speed personalization system Print M at Cartes 2006 in Paris.

Print M is the world’s first high-speed personalization system that can be directly linked to a high-speed card wrapping machine. Moreover, this system comprises a brand new hot stamping module with film saving function and the integrated overwrapping machine OM 50 for envelope end fold wraps.

The production speed is up to 30,000 cards/hour. A 2-head ink jet can print up to 12 lines; the maximum font size is 15 mm. Customers can choose whether they want to apply labels or hotfoil to cover the PIN. The newly developed hot stamping module from KÖRA-PACKMAT is the first solution with integrated foil saving function. Due to this development, it is possible to save up to 40 % on hotfoil costs.

A card monitoring system checks production at every stage: printing and scratch-off panel application. When a faulty card is detected then the machine not only removes the faulty card from the product stream at this stage, but also produces a correct replacement card and inserts it correctly into the product stream to ensure the integrity of the whole batch.

If Print is combined with a CardSeal wrapping machine production speeds of the personalizing and packaging processes are synchronized automatically. The machine offers a choice of final packaging: single packs or linked packs, security seals of generic or customer specific design.

CardSeal can be linked to different types of overwrapping machines; card packs can be collated and then either flow wrapped, banded, or overwrapped - as loose bags, tight bags or envelope end packs. The final packs can be checked by a camera.  Labels, with information on the contents, can be applied.

Adds Jochen Scheil, “This combined system is designed for just-in-time production. Printing and packaging cards in-line, and inspecting every card and every pack on- line, will enable our customers to achieve a high security level, reduce costs and shorten delivery times.”
