The next generation of ‘harland sirius’

Visitors to the Harland stand at the PPMA show will see the next generation of the ‘Harland Sirius’ pressure-sensitive (PS) labelling system.

This system has been designed with full customer input and incorporates the latest available technology. The additional benefits will allow greater flexibility in the production environment: improving efficiency/speed/accuracy/user friendliness and will provide even greater reliability.

Enhanced features include:

• Motion Control System provides increased labelling accuracy coupled with absolute speed matching to cope with variable speed demands of today’s packaging lines.
• Enhanced control system incorporating single touch screen user interface provides a very high level of user diagnostics. The unique software enables quick set-up times between product changeover and is self monitoring to provide optimum reliability. This reduces the skill level required for operation and maintenance.
• Fully integrated inspection systems to identify label and or overprint presence; barcode readability is available and easily incorporated. Also available is the integration of a Vision system capable of identifying label position on the product plus the correct lot/expiration data.
• Plant specific customisation of access is achieved by Harland’s Available for Action (AFA) password protected activation and operation.
• Modularised transmission system utilising the latest technology ensures that the Sirius provides the optimum level of flexibility and reliability for all current and future labelling requirements.
• Increased cabinet space allows for greater flexibility for future upgrades.

This next generation of ‘ Harland Sirius’ features will be incorporated in the Tamper Evident and top/bottom labellers. The system at the show will be demonstrating front and back label application onto an oval product.

The ‘Harland Sirius’ is just one family of labelling systems available from Harland Machine Systems of Salford, Manchester which also includes simple applicators, automatic linear and rotary systems, flexible tube capping & labelling, aseptic labellers and ultra high speed labelling technology. Visitors to the stand at the PPMA Show will also be able to see other representative demonstrations of one or more of these systems.
