Synopsis

Radio Frequency Identification is a sophisticated, yet simple and highly reliable technology that uses radio waves to uniquely identify a person, or an object without physical contact.

RFID is superior to barcode because line of sight is not required to read tags. Although RFID was first used in WWII to identify Allied aircraft; the technology has been vastly improved. Today, RFID receives increased attention because of technology advancement, heightened security concerns, a greater emphasis on cost control, and improved efficiency in the business process.
