Leiden, The Netherlands, New proprietary Fasson self-adhesive film labelstocks – Fasson Global Co-Ex – are unveiled this month at the world`s largest labelling exhibition, Labelexpo Europe, in Brussels.    Says Don Stoebe, Vice President and General Manager, Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe:   `We believe that Fasson Global Co-Ex films are genuinely a game-changer.   They will simplify the whole business of choosing and using self-adhesive labelling films, for both converter and brand manufacturer.`

The self-adhesive labelling films market has become extremely complex in the light of the ever-increasing demands from brand owners for conformability over complicated container profiles and clarity, resulting in a product portfolio that embraces PP and PE for different substrates and different on-pack performance requirements.   Says Mr Stoebe:  `Fasson Global Co-Ex is a high-technology co-extrusion, combining the best features of all the standard film facestocks.    Fasson Global Co-Ex films are available in gloss white and gloss transparent, topcoated and non-topcoated,  and offer end users exceptional clarity and print quality, plus outstanding converting and dispensing characteristics.   They really represent a simple labelling solution for a complex market.`

Healthy and beauty products and household chemicals – where self-adhesive labelling films are commonly used – are markets which will benefit from the properties of Fasson Global Co-Ex -- particularly its engineered combination of machine direction orientation and cross-direction conformability.   `Because the film can be used on a broad spectrum of application substrates, including HDPE, PET, PE, PP, and glass (and, of course, for the `no label` look), selecting, qualifying, and specifying film label substrates can be simplified.   The economies of scale delivered by a greatly-reduced portfolio of label substrate specifications can also give a better price/performance ratio,` comments Mr Stoebe.   `At just 63 micron, Fasson Global Co-Ex films deliver more labels per reel, high production yield, and simplified and reduced inventory  for the label converter.   For the end user, specifying a Fasson Global Co-Ex film across the whole range of a new product`s packaging can significantly improve the speed with which that product can be brought to market.   Label dispensing is accurate and smooth, thanks to the optimal stiffness/flexibility of the co-extrusion.

`What`s more, as its name implies, Fasson Global Co-Ex is available from Avery Dennison throughout the world to the many international companies who understand the value of maintaining high global packaging standards for their valuable brands.`

Available with standard Fasson label adhesives and release liners, Fasson Global Co-Ex films are available ex-stock from Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe, and samples and technical datasheets are available on request via Fasson sales representatives or the website, www.europe.fasson.com.
