National Adhesives, a global leader in adhesives technology, has announced that its EASY-PAC solution has been chosen by Allied Distillers, part of the Chivas Brothers/ Pernod Ricard Group. The Glasgow-based distillery bottles leading spirits brands including Ballantine’s, Malibu and Beefeater.

EASY-PAC, is a revolutionary package sealing solution, which dispenses a char-free adhesive with a melt temperature of only 90-100˚C, the lowest so far on the market. Allied Distillers has adopted EASY-PAC on all eight lines in the Clyde bottling hall, replacing the standard dispensing equipment used before.

EASY-PAC was chosen for several reasons. Its reduced operating temperature has improved health and safety performance, lowered downtime and maintenance. Operations costs have also been reduced.

Jim Carrigan, Manufacturing Manager at Allied Distillers said: “We have experienced a number of benefits including a reduction in material consumption of over 20 %, which was achieved due to less gum being required to securely bond the cases. Overall, we’re delighted with the new system and its performance.”
