B&C has announced a €5 million investment in its South Main Street brewery with the installation of a new draught packaging plant in the finished product area thus effectively doubling its draught packaging capacity by June this year. This development complements the €7 million investment in the bottling facility at the brewery commissioned in 2003.
“This new investment in the brewery is a further positive development for Beamish & Crawford, and underpins the ongoing success of our brands and the confidence in our operation in Cork shown by Scottish & Newcastle,” commented Beamish & Crawford’s Managing Director Alf Smiddy. He added that the new facility provided Beamish & Crawford with a solid platform for future development and growth in the Irish on-trade sector and for Beamish Stout and Beamish Red exports around the world. “The new facility will also facilitate Beamish & Crawford being in a position to competitively tender for contract brewing and kegging within the S&N Group and from other independent third parties,” he added.
