Waxmark from Mark-O-Print is setting new standards in contactless product marking. Whether for marking cartons for packaging butter, lacquered frozen-food containers, drums for engineering and food oils, labels or aluminium-coated paper - the system has proved its value in many sectors, ranging from foodstuffs and contract packaging to the chemicals industry.Waxmark codes a very wide range of materials with outstanding, crisp quality results.
All this is made possible by a very special technique. As a print medium, Waxmark uses a combination of wax and resin with dye additives. This wax is liquefied in a heating chamber at 110°C and then sprayed as liquid ink through a 32-nozzle piezo printing head.Because the wax particles cool immediately during the coding process, the marks quickly become smudge-proof and will adhere easily even to smooth surfaces.
Waxmark will print up to four lines of text, barcodes or logos on the side or on the top of products and packaging. The maximum character height is 10mm. Depending on the size of the text, type density and its distance from the product, the coder can achieve printing speeds of up to 100m per minute.
The text memory can hold up to 500 texts with further capacity for the separate storage of 25 logos and special characters.Automatic functions such as date, time and numbering can be added at the time the text is being created.
The system is particularly robust, with no moving mechanical parts.Care and maintenance are reduced to a bare minimum and the cost of consumables is also very low.
Another advantage is that Waxmark uses non-toxic wax exclusively, with no chemicals or solvents, so that there are no noxious emissions or unpleasant odours. Mark-O-Print GmbH
