The course has been set for the future. Over ten million in investments create jobs and have made it possible to set up one of the most modern locations for cutting and packaging systems worldwide. In addition, the CFS plant in Kempten will be completely modernized for the production of packaging materials. “It is the beginning of a new era,” says Hans Schwaebe, President CFS Buehl. “We now have two modern locations with optimal transport infrastructure so that we can serve our customers even better, even more flexibly in the future.”
One company, two locations The opening of the 20,000 square metre plant at the Kempten Buehl-Ost industrial estate is a clear signal on the part of CFS and at the same time underlines its commitment to the region. The capacity limit of the previous location in Roemerstrasse was reached after steady growth in the past years. However, instead of moving away like other companies, CFS decided in favor of extensive investments. The Buehl plant was taken over by CFS in October – moving all employees to the new address was finalized within four weeks.
In addition to the construction of a new production and administration building in Kempten-Buehl, the location in Roemerstrasse in Kempten will be completely modernized for the production of packaging materials.
Hans Schwaebe, President CFS Buehl, looks optimistically into the future: “For all of us a new era begins today. We now have two modern locations with optimal transport infrastructure so that we can serve our customers even better, even more flexibly in the future. I would like to thank the city administration, the general contractor and everyone who contributed to the successful expansion of our company as well as on-schedule completion of the new building in Kempten-Buehl.”
The result is a quantum leap in efficiency Around 240 employees are involved in the production of peeler, slicer, loading and packaging systems at the Kempten-Buehl location. As further proof of its confidence in the plant, CFS has, moreover, transferred production responsibility for the traysealer to Kempten-Buehl. This has now already led to the hiring of 20 new employees. Thanks to the construction of 6,600 m2 of new production area as well as 2,200 m2 of administration and office rooms, all workflows were able to be planned completely and coordinated optimally to each other. “The result is a quantum leap in efficiency,” says Hans Schwaebe – especially due to the favorable location in terms of transport directly on the A7 autobahn.
Investments from which customers and employees profit At the previous location Roemerstrasse in Kempten CFS will now be able to develop the production of packaging materials on an entirely new basis. Here, too, modernisation of the plant will result in an optimal infrastructure as well as state-of-the-art production facilities. The approximately 230 employees will primarily concentrate on the production of 3D shrinkbags, shrinkwrap, skin and top films as well as the CFS eXbase® and CFS C-base films on PP base.
As CFS is the only supplier worldwide for packaging machines as well as packaging materials, Hans Schwaebe, President CFS Buehl, is convinced that the investments in the two Kempten locations Buehl and Roemerstrasse will lead to further growth – growth from which customers, employees and locations alike will profit in the end.
