EskoArtwork JDF integration solutions help Pragati to realize MIS implementation increasing production speed and profitability
EskoArtwork is proud to have supported Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd in Hyperabad (India) to win the first place of the 2008 CIP4 International Print Production Innovation Awards (CIPPI) in the category “Best Process Automation Implementation – Emerging Markets”.
The CIPPI awards are given annually to the applicant printer, publisher or prepress service with the most compelling case study in three topical categories and four regions. Pragati is the first winner of the category of the “Emerging Markets” awards. Besides an MIS solution of Lithotechnics, Pragati’s JDF integration was supported by the EskoArtwork workflow solution including the components BackStage and FastImpose.
“A JDF based workflow integration is no longer a dream or a vision. With this award EskoArtwork has proven that JDF brings tangible and substantial value to our customers,“ says Jan De Roeck, Director Solutions Management at EskoArtwork, “EskoArtwork believes in JDF and the emerging markets in Asia, underlining the efforts of our growing Systems Integration Group in India”.
Prior to the implementation Pragati used a home-grown MIS system for front office operations such as estimating, order entry and billing, but job planning was still done manually. “We wanted to move to automated job planning, eliminate re-keying, and introduce built-in parameters to avoid manual planning errors. With support of EskoArtwork and Lithotechnics we could achieve correct impositions and increased production speed”, states Narendra Paruchuri, CEO of Pragati. Pragati is now also able to create print-outs of layouts of the operators and make old order imposition diagrams available in the database – all benefits that make the management of operations easier and more profitable.
“Pragati made an efficient integration of their systems in a short amount of time”, judges CIPPI Review Panel Judge Stephan Jaeggi of Pre-Press Consulting. “Their application of SAP connectivity with data coming to and from the MIS planning and imposition system is a great example of how JDF opens the doors to new possibilities.” EskoArtwork
