- Integrated packaging system for blister, case and package insert
- Birth control pill packaging solution for Warner Chilcott
- Output of over 170 packages per minute

In cooperation with the US client Warner Chilcott, Sigpack Systems developed a specific packaging solution for birth control pills. At a production rate of over 170 packages per minute, blisters with pills wrapped in tin foil are hermetically packaged and sealed. The blister package contains, apart from the blister, a plastic wallet as blister case, a humidity absorber and a package insert. These packaging elements are inserted automatically into the feeding chain of the tubular bag machine. A control unit checks to ensure accurate insertion of the components. Bosch was the only system provider that was able to supply all system components from a single source and could guarantee the high production capacity required by Warner Chilcott while preserving product quality.

At the Achema in Frankfurt, this customer-specific packaging solution will be presented together with an additional robot solution for product handling and an integrated top loader platform for end of line packaging. The combination of the system components demonstrates Bosch's flexible and economically sustainable system approach that increases efficiency and convenience in the production process.

This project underscores Sigpack Systems' knowledge of the market. Packaging must provide reliability, efficiency in production, and shelf appeal. At the same time, the market requires packages to be functional and easy to use, on the commercial as well as on the consumer side. Blister packages, which offer these advantages, remain one of the most important target applications for Sigpack Systems.
