A major distribution site in Augusta County is about to triple its size with a multi-million dollar expansion. Company officials and county leaders broke ground on the $30 million expansion of MeadWestvaco.
The company serves customers in more than a 100 countries. It provides packaging for a variety of different brands. The expansion is expected to create 40 to 50 jobs in the area.
We have a lot of our youth going other places to find a job, said Augusta County Supervisor David Beyeler. There's nothing wrong with some of them going somewhere else, but I want them to have the opportunity to stay in the Augusta County area.
The expansion is expected to be completed in the spring of 2009. |
