Biography

Lisa McTigue Pierce is Editor-in-Chief of FOOD & DRUG PACKAGING, a monthly magazine that analyzes packaging trends and technical developments for the food, beverage, drug, medical and personal care industries. Published by Stagnito Communications, an MWC Company, FOOD & DRUG PACKAGING connects closely with readers by delving into specific issues that matter to them. Pierce began her publishing career in 1982 at Cahners Publishing Co. with Packaging magazine, formerly Package Engineering magazine. In 1993, she joined newly-formed Independent Publishing Co. to lead FOOD & DRUG PACKAGING as its Editor and was promoted to Editor-in-Chief in 1997. Stagnito Communications--a veteran publisher of specialized food and beverage processing magazines--purchased FOOD & DRUG PACKAGING and its sister magazines BrandPackaging and Flexible Packaging in January 2000. Pierce stays intimately involved and active in her industry: --She¹s a member of several packaging-related trade associations, including the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP). --She¹s been a featured speaker at many industry events, including meetings for the Closure Manufacturer¹s Association, the Institute of Packaging Professionals, the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute and the Rigid Plastics Packaging Institute. --She has judged numerous packaging competitions, including the DuPont Awards, Flexible Packaging Association Top Awards, the National Association of Container Distributors Packaging Awards and the Tube of the Year Awards, sponsored by the Tube Council of North America. She has also served as both Treasurer and President of the Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Business Press Editors.
