Julian Carroll is Managing Director of the European Organization for Packaging and the Environment (EUROPEN), a position he has served in since 1993. Prior to his appointment at EUROPEN, Mr Carroll was based in London as Director of Corporate Affairs for Lawson Mardon Packaging with responsibility for Group Environment Policy. Lawson Marden is now part of Alcan Packaging. In 1991, Mr Carroll, together with several other industry executives, saw the need for a pan-European industry body such as EUROPEN and helped found it. He was educated in Australia and the University of Oregon (USA).

EUROPEN is the cross-sectoral voice of the packaging and packaged goods industry in Europe. Its membership, composed of companies and national organizations with an economic interest in packaging, represents the collective opinions of the packaging chain, not the views of any single industry sector.
