Typesetting
De Schutter is fully equipped for typographically sound typesetting of texts in many - also less common -- languages. There are over 2,000 fonts available for publications ranging from advertisements to encyclopaedias in all the European languages. Typesetters and prepress specialists operate in close co-operation. Together they produce perfect films or digital files within a very short time, for text as well as for image.
Scanning
With flatbed or drum scanners we can scan your photographs, slides or shots and export them to different media without risk of distortions or loss of quality and colour authenticity.
Image Processing
Changing colours, manipulating or isolating images as part of image processing. All this can be done in our page make-up studio. Do you want to use particular colours for your house style? We keep watch over your brand image. Whatever the printing technique, we make sure that your packaging, magazine has the same look always and everywhere.
Page Layouts
We have all the standard graphic software in different versions and formats in-house: QuarkXpress, Illustrator, Photoshop, ArtPro, Barco, Scitex etc.
Photography
We offer digital and conventional photography (pack shots, complete sets, creation). When we start work on your photographs we always keep the finished product in mind: your catalogue, advertisement, product brochure, packaging, electronic archiving, multimedia application, industrial report etc. We know the media and we take their specific characteristics into account. That allows you to avoid unpleasant surprises and saves you time and money. De Schutter can process your photographs for all kinds of applications. We can guarantee you a complete service for all your communication projects: from design to print or multimedia product.
Creation and Design
We have our own design studio. We can realise any chosen concept in close consultation with the customer. If you prefer, we can also provide guidance throughout your entire communication project. In our design studio we execute a wide range of orders for different markets such as business-to-business, retail, government, and packaging industry. From a creation that was made according to your briefing, we develop a final artwork (in several languages, for different techniques). We can also create and design websites and CD-ROMs.
Proofs
We make a PDF (Portable Document Format) or digital proof of a design. This proof is sent to you by e-mail, thus enabling you to check the design on-screen and tell us which corrections or alterations you want us to make. Next to the digital proofs, we can also make ``traditional`` proofs: cromalins (chemical proofs) or print proofs that are printed with commercial printing presses on the material and with the inks the printer will use for the final product. This way, you can see exactly what the end result will look like. We are very experienced with ``digital workflow`` (PDF files), communication via ISDN, modem and internet. The Remote Proof System ensures a quick control and approval. You have access to digital logo and image banks on-line as well as off-line.
