Gravure Printing
In gravure printing, the image which is to be printed is engraved in copperplated cylinders. The process is fully digitised. Gravure printing is eminently suited for different kinds of foils, paper and high quality packaging cardboard in very large runs. The range of colours is almost unlimited. At your request we print proofs on the material used for the finished product, using the printer`s inks. This way, our customers see a realistic cylinder proof that can easily be reproduced by the printer.
Flexographic Printing
Flexographic printing uses a flexible printing plate (polymer) that can be made in a totally digitised as well as in a ``traditional`` process. Over the years, the flexographic printing process has developed into a fully fledged printing technique for all kinds of materials such as corrugated cardboard, flexible packaging, labels, foil or film, folding carton, goblets, carrier bags, tissue, envelopes, wrapping paper, etc. Flexographic printing is the ideal process for small runs and frozen foods packaging.
De Schutter can print flexo proofs on the material used for the finished product, using the printer`s inks. A cheaper alternative is the fully digitised colour proof that has been calibrated according to the printer`s press and closely matches the final product.
Offset Printing
The principle of offset printing is ``flat printing.`` An offset plate, therefore, has no differences in relief. There are many applications for offset printing, but in the field of packaging, offset is mainly used to print cardboard packaging, labels and wrappers in small to medium-size runs. This technique offers a good reproduction of PMS or house style colours and is relatively cheap and fast. De Schutter can print offset packaging proofs on the material used for the finished product, using the printer`s inks and following the printer`s specifications. It is also possible to print a number of samples for marketing purposes.
