Food packaging functions are as diverse as they are important. A few functions to keep in mind when designing new packaging concepts are containment, protection, communication, and environmental issues.

Replacement of High VOC Products Using Moisture Reactive Technology |
Author : Jonathan Stuart Company : Bostik, Inc. |
Traditionally, the sealant and adhesive industry`s product response to applications requiring fast grab and green strength is to sell solvated rubber products. As solvent evaporates it leaves behind a sticky, tacky adhesive/sealant that demonstrates fast grab and green strength. These products are subject to high shrinkage, high VOC content, flammability (low flash point) and generally do not provide any chemical bonding for adhesion, but they are inexpensive to manufacture and sell and are adequate for most applications.
