Computerised Quotes

Computerised quotes have been part of Allkotes’ culture for many years. It means you get instant, immediate prices for your inquiries. Things we need to know at the time of your phone call include your full company name and details, your name, the type of lamination, coating or finish you require, a job reference, the weight of paper stock in ums or gsm, sheet size, number of sides and the quantity of sheets. Remember, when you place your order, jot down the quote number, the quantity required and include a marked-up sheet to show the area to be laminated, the finished trim size and, please, mark your grip and side lay edges.

Laminations

PlastaKote

Traditionally, the ultimate finish. A full gloss plastic film lamination offering flexibility, tear resistance and long term durability. Especially suitable where work is to be grained, embossed, scored or casebound. Used extensively on magazines, book jackets, annual reports, postcards, prestige packaging and presentations such as cosmetics, perfumes, liquor, clothing and jewellery.

MatteKote

It looks different. It feels different. Offers the other end of the spectrum to gloss with a superior matt finish and the added attraction of a smooth, sophisticated touch. Also a film lamination to paper or board, so all the advantages of durability and strength are there for special presentations such as book covers, magazines, annual reports, brochures, prestige cartons for cosmetics, liquor etc. The feel and finish of MatteKote is the main reason for the prominence of this product in the market place. For the ultimate finish, add gloss SpotKote to make your graphic really stand out.

KeyKote

A full, deep gloss lamination which is strong, durable and more readily printable after lamination and more readily glued with most PVA’s and Hot Melts. It may not look different to PlastaKote but it brings film lamination within the boundaries of all users who might have been restricted in the past because of limited resources in glueability and foil stamping.A KeyKote Matt is also available.

SilkKote

If you are looking for something between gloss and matt lamination, consider SilkKote. Some say that it looks like the printed sheet/book cover is not laminated, but the process is a lamination so you enjoy all the benefits of film lamination in terms of strength and long-term durability. Perfect for book covers where a more subtle look is desired.

WindowKote

Offers all the benefits of film lamination with the ability to leave a window to highlight your product inside the carton. It is an economic alternative to window patching while leaving your carton with an eye catching gloss finish. All we require is that the desired panel is cut out of the printed sheet prior to laminating. It is also important to contact our sales people in regard to your requirements as the layout of the window requires pre-planning.

BossKote

All the impact of an embossed laminated printed sheet without the need to emboss. Looks particularly striking with a gloss lamination, but a matt finish is available for certain graphics. Ideal for book covers, brochures or any promotional material for when you want to add feel to the laminated print.

Strip Lamination

Plastic film lamination offering flexibility, tear resistance and long term durability. Ideal for work on manila folders and tubing where protection is needed along delicate traffic areas.

FancyKote

A fancy film which is designed for other things but is making an impact in paper lamination. Offers a radiant, iridescent finish which moves with the light and the movement of the sheet. Comes in a variety of multicoloured variations such as Blue/Purple, Pink/Blue & Yellow/Pink. It’s so fancy; you have to see the film to get the full effect. So ask for samples.

Mirra Film Products

As with so many of the Allkotes products, the metallised Mirra film products are a perfect vehicle to mix and match within our product range, particularly with our new exciting MICROMOTION technology.

MirraKote

A high chrome mirror film lamination which offers an improved reflective finish on our traditional ReflectaKote finish. Of course, this silver film comes at a higher cost which is reflective of the high quality of the finished product. Mirra is the name and mirror is the finish. Ideal for prestige packaging and point of sale or anywhere the impact of a mirror is desired.

ReflectaKote - Silver

A metalised reflective finish using a high quality film lamination. An economic alternative to foil board without the demands of large volumes. Smaller quantities are readily available on the sheet size of your choice. Can be printed with most foil inks, UV offset or foil stamped. Ideal for point of sale, cosmetic boxes, liquor cartons, greeting cards, books, annual reports etc.

ReflectaKote - Gold

There are golds and more golds, but we have a standard gold gloss and matt available ex-stock for quick delivery. Colour matching is subject to production restraints and you should contact us at the concept stage if a specific gold is required.

ReflectaKote - Matt

ReflectaKote Silver and Gold are available in a matt finish for a fashionable alternative to the gloss finish. A standard metallised matt is available in both silver and gold.

ReflectaKote - Colours

All the colours of the rainbow are available subject to colour matching and production needs. For quick delivery, there is a standard blue, red and green which normally covers most requirements. Ask for samples.

Holographics

Endless number of exciting designs with both a metallised or clear finish for packaging, book and magazine covers or any other printed promotional material. Allkotes has an ex-stock range of designs already laminated to board for quick delivery. Or we laminate your chosen designs to your board. Special or individual designs are available, but these are subject to lead times depending upon your requirements. For example, a personalised logo design will involve a capital cost for the manufacture of the template.

BrushKote

An exciting new development in metallised silver lamination with the addition of brush strokes to add prestige and class to your finished product. Looks similar to the brushed aluminium finishes as seen in car interiors and electrical home appliances. Used for luxury product packaging or point of sale.

Micromotion

MicroKote

Micromotion, better known as MicroKote in Allkotes terms, is just about the best thing to happen in coating and laminating in years.

It is just a sensational finish which breaks new bounds by taking the print graphic into a 3rd dimension with outstanding effects.

Allkotes is proud to be licensed by Serigraph in the U.S for the adaptation of Micromotion for the Australian and New Zealand print market.

It has to be seen to be believed and it is most difficult to describe the varying and ultimate effects of micromotion on your printed sheet.

As our promotional material reads, “A real blast! Blows your mind and your eyes with a unique, distinctive visual effect that is ideal for Point of Sale, Book and Magazine covers, DVD Packaging and the like.”

It is particularly relevant to Point of Sale as it turns any poster, stand ups, counter cards, light box graphics into something special with a swirl and burst of colour and visual effect for the best in eye catching appeal.

If you want to get involved in Micromotion, please speak to Allkotes at the concept stage as the production of the print and Micromotion go hand in hand.

There are unlimited illusions, designs and effects with Micromotion and it is best to rely on input of the Allkotes design team to work with the graphic designer and the marketing department.

Ordinarily, the design requires extensive sampling to achieve the desired result so time is required for maximum results.

For instance, in many cases, the final approval of the final design is produced when the printed sheet comes to Allkotes for the sampling stage when different patterns can be applied.

Sure Micromotion can be added to your print graphic after the design stage, but the best results come with the joint creativity of the graphic designer together with the Allkotes design team to achieve the maximum impact of the product.

PhotoKote

Photomotion, known in our product range as PhotoKote, is a derivative of the Micromotion Technology through the different use of graphics to produce a more in depth effect.

Best used on graphics where multiple colours are featured as the process creates an ‘on/off’ flash effect when viewed at different angles.

Foil Stamping

FoilKote

Foil stamping and embossing have always gone hand in hand with laminating and coating. All these processes are a form of embillishment and are very complementary. Foil is particularly prominent in the area of book covers. A combination of MatteKote, SpotKote, FoilKote and embossing is much sort after on the covers of today’s paperbacks. So, whether it’s just gold or coloured foils or embossing or combinations of all the above, your printed job will greatly benefit from the Allkotes touch.

Embossing

The more traditional way of raising a printed design or typeface on book covers and display cartons. Comes in various forms and heights so it’s always advisable to speak to your Allkotes representative to discuss your requirements. More often used with other Allkotes processes, particularly film lamination and foil stamping as on paperback book covers.

Holographics

Endless number of exciting designs with both a metallised or clear finish for packaging, book and magazine covers or any other printed promotional material. Also used in the foil stamping process for reasons of increased security where counterfeiting is prevalent. Special or individual designs are available but these are subject to lead times depending upon your requirements. For example, a personalised logo design will involve a capital cost for the manufacture of the template.

Encapsulations

KlearKote

A super gloss finish that laminates both sides of the printed sheet with sealed edging in a variety of thicknesses. Beautifies and brings out the best in the printed sheet through the use of high grade polyester films. Ideal for prestige point of sale. Can be used on photographs. It is an economically viable alternative to plastic with all the advantages of bright vivid colours. Both gloss and matt available.

RigidKote

Tough, strong and price effective when heavy duty protective lamination required. Turns paper into rigid plastic with all the benefits of colour matching and registration in the paper printing process. Ideal for posters, signs and point of sale. Non-reflective textured finish means your message is unaffected by spotlights etc. Can be bent into stand-ups, frames, mobiles and even foamed for non-slip counter mats. A flexible version is also available for rolling up maps, plans, graphs etc.

Coatings

GlossKote High Gloss

Unqualified success in keeping costs down while producing super gloss and excellent rub and scuff resistance. Ideal for magazines, paperbacks, brochures, annual reports, telephone book covers, directories or anywhere an eye catching glossy front cover is required. It’s a liquid coating so the substrate needs to have sufficient hold out for the gloss coating to stand on top and be effective. Brings the concept of gloss within reach for the high volume, cost conscious market place.

GlossKote Glueable

A high gloss coating with enhanced glueability. Combining gloss with improved processing & finishing of display cartons, DVD and CD covers or any other form of packaging.

PatternKote

Distinctive way to apply a high gloss coating to select areas on a printed sheet. Used extensively on packaging where glue flaps are left free. Also on brochures and magazines where panels can be left free of coating to maximise name, date or code stamping. Different to SpotKote in that this coating is usually applied to most of the sheet thereby leaving only a small part uncoated.

GreaseKote

An efficient economic barrier coating which gives effective grease and oil resistance for carton packaging. Successfully used on both container and lid for frozen foods, pet food, pizza cartons, cakes, sweets, ice cream, soap powders. Approved for food contact.

HeatKote

Absolutely vital together with the right board and inks for blister/bubble packaging. Hang-sell is so much part of marketing these days... batteries, house wares, adhesives, shaving blades, pens, car parts, hardware. But remember to seal a product within a bubble to a printed card you need HeatKote and the right inks and board.

AquaKote

A coating designed to give good scuff resistance and gloss levels which are superior to a machine varnish, at an economical cost factor. Quite often, the answer to printing problems like wet or soft inks.

Spot Coatings

SpotKote Gloss

Let your designing mind go free by Spot coating with high gloss or matt to highlight logos, panels, special graphics and designs. Anything is possible. A stunning way to put gloss, reverse gloss or matt to anywhere on the printed sheet. Add some stripes, circles, waves, textures or tints. The variations are endless.

SpotKote Matt

Sometimes a Spot Matt will have more impact on the graphic design than gloss. So think of SpotKote Matt. Anything is possible. A stunning way to put Matt, reverse Matt to anywhere on the printed sheet. Add some stripes, circles, waves, textures or prints. The variations are endless.

BubbleKote

A touch sensation, BubbleKote produces a raised textured finish to match the spot printed graphic to give it feel as well as the look. Make a printed roadway feel like a road, make snake skin feel like it is. Gives the design the three dimensional touch as in a course sandy beach against a clear glossy ocean. Ideal for book covers, DVD and CD packs, brochures, printed promotional material, advertising graphics, bank and cheque covers, prestige packaging etc.

GlitterKote

A glittering effect when applied to selected areas of a printed image. It’s glossy, eye-catching and adds “shelf appeal” to a wide range of printed products. Ideal for book and magazine covers, DVD and CD packs, greeting cards and premium packaging. Has the added advantage of not coming away from the printed sheet as experienced with the more traditional method of glued glitter.

UltraKote

Raise your design profile with the raised effect of UltraKote. A rich clear gloss or add colour for the ultimate effect. Gives a three dimensional tear drop effect to the graphic design such as highlighting a splash of water. Adds prestige and feels great! An effective alternative to embossing as this coating gives a high gloss, high build finish. Perfect for book covers, printed promotional material etc.

ScratchKote

These days many promotional activities involve some form of Scratch-It where the customer scratches a panel on the surface of a printed ticket to reveal a hidden prize. It is used in lottery type situations and other promotions where customer awareness and brand loyalties are heightened through cash or free giveaways. It is available in gold or silver and can be overprinted for further effect.

LinenKote

This coating offers a superb cost effective alternative to grained board and is ideal for book covers, bank books, cheque book covers, picture prints, or anywhere an embossed, grained look and feel is required. It can effectively turn any board into grained board thereby making the print process easier with the product offering unlimited grain designs for minimal cost compared to the price of an expensive steel roller. This process also lends itself to raised textured finishes anywhere on he printed sheet to highlight the graphic of the print. For example: smoothness and depth of butter on a piece of corn.
