CROWN Aerosols Europe, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) (www.crowncork.com), has introduced a seven day turnaround service for standard packages from the time of order placement to customer delivery.

The new service helps brand owners get product to market faster and reduces warehouse inventory and associated costs. It also offers greater flexibility to accommodate evolving volume needs, eliminating concerns of over or under planning due to inaccurate forecasts. High scrapping costs of redundant product can also be avoided.

Crown’s Sutton, UK operation is the first plant to offer the service. It is now standard operating procedure for all European customers served by the facility, but excludes delivery time if product is shipped outside of the UK. CROWN Aerosols Europe plans to offer the same service from its Italian and Belgian facilities by the end of 2008.

By shortening replenishment time and lowering stock levels, our new service will help brand owners easily keep pace with consumer demand."

The standard market lead time for tinplate aerosol cans in the UK is between three to four weeks. If sourced from overseas suppliers, the lead time can reach up to eight weeks of planning cycle.
