Bill Kipp has been involved with testing and the dynamics of transport packaging for 35 years. He is currently Education Director for International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), an industry group dedicated to the specific concerns of packaged-product distribution. After graduation from Stanford University and a number of years of employment in the aerospace and computer industries, Bill helped to found Lansmont Corporation in 1971. Lansmont is a leading manufacturer of testing equipment and the associated instruments and technologies for product and package evaluation. He left Lansmont in 2001 to join ISTA. Bill is a long-time member of ASTM International`s Committee D10 on Packaging, and is presently Chair of Subcommittee D10.15 (Fragility Assessment) and co-Chair of Subcommittee D10.16 (Instrumentation). He is both an IoPP Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) and an ISTA Certified Packaging Laboratory Professional (CPLP). He is a frequent speaker at professional conferences and seminars, both domestically and internationally, and has written numerous papers and technical articles dealing with instrumentation, product and package test methodology, and testing equipment.
