Model 175 Wrapper

The UBE 175 Wrapper improves on the bread wrapping technology of the past 80 years with features that update out machine to twenty first century.

Servo Wrapper Features

Traction Vacuum Film Suction

The 175 wrapper incorporates a unique new film vacuum design.  A curtain of compressed air gently holds and pulls down on the under-lap film as it awaits the loaf.  The traction characteristic eliminates pockets or folds that can be pulled up by the lifter table.  Because it uses only air pressure it cannot clog.

Servo driven width adjustment with preset positioning

The servo width adjustment moves in conjunction with the servo crossfeed to adjust for loaf length.  Preset position can be automatically recalled from the touch screen.  Limits are preset in the PLC.  Torque is limited by the servo drive to prevent jams and damage.

Servo driven paper drive
Precise paper feed is accomplished with the new servo paper drive.  We’ve eliminated the friction clutch and film brake.  Replacement film rolls simply slide into position.  Drive roller under the film roll start and stop rapidly for positive film feed as needed.  The paper drive roller provides constant tension to remove film from the roll.  The drop stick and film are sensed with an ultrasonic sensor.  Even sticky static charged rolls unwind to the end with ease.  This saves downtime and eliminates costly film waste.

Servo driven pump roller
The servo driven pump roller replaces the rachet drive assembly.  The PLC accurately adjusts the overlap base on the setting from the touch screen.  This eliminates the mechanical clutch and maintenance headaches.  The pump roller construction has been improved to include roller bearing for longer life.

Double loaf eliminator section
To prevent malfunctions, the slicer outfeed has a double eliminator flight section.  Double loaves are automatically separated without disrupting operation.

ACVF speed control on main drive motor
ACVF speed control allows for smoother starts and the ability to slow job the wrapper.  Accurate motor current sensing prevents damage to the motor and drive chain.

Adjustable torque clutch for each drive area
Each drive area has a separate adjustable overload clutch, camshaft, top transfer, and slicer drive overloads that are sensed electronically to prevent damage or injury.  This eliminates broken mechanisms and costly downtime.  The crossfeed flights are servo driven and have internal overload sensing capability.

PID heater control with solid state relays
PID heater control on every heater element provides accurate control at any speed.  Lower overshoot at startup prevents burn film and heater damage.  Preprogrammed high temperature limits prevent operators from programming improper or damaging settings.  Solid state relays last longer and zero voltage switching improves heater life.  Over temperature alarms prevent heater runaway.

Driven Teflon side belt sealers
The driven side belts allow greater end seal pressure while eliminating excess force and product deformation from the top transfer pushers.  Belts are inexpensive yet long lasting and simple to replace.  No tracking adjustment is required.  Side seal temperatures are typically 350 degrees, well below the film melting point and ¾ of the temperature required with air-heated rollers.

Allen Bradley PLC control with device net
Our standard control uses Allen Bradley SLC 500 series processors.  This coupled with device net provides an excellent backbone for connecting ACVFs, servos and encoders.  Complex components automatically plug and play if replaced.  The Touch Screen operator interface displays and recalls all operator settings.  It has complete machine diagnostic and error displays.  This reduces setup time and simplifies troubleshooting.

Right or Left hand infeeds available
The servo driven infeed can be configured as a right or left hand feed.  The flexible pendant arm control panel allows right or left hand control with either hand infeed.  Crossfeeds also use no lube Tsubaki Lambda chain.  Chains are manufactured with attachment links for increased strength.  Pusher and Follower Castings are aluminum bronze for greater strength and improved wear.

Wrapper bread bypass available (optional)
The bread slicer is equipped with a tilting outfeed to select wrapping or bagging.  An air switch makes the selection, and automatically selects the drive clutch.  Once wrapped, loaves discharge into a transfer conveyor.  The transfer conveyor re-times wrapped loaves into the bagger infeed.  Wrapped loaves can be over bagged or passed through the bagger for tray loading.

All new construction with stainless steel frame
The new tubular stainless steel frame is stronger and more sanitary than the old style, cast iron frame.  It is more accessible for ease of maintenance, yet has improved guarding for greater safety.  Paint free construction helps also keep the 175 wrapper, clean and sanitary.  The frame has large panel guards and gull-wing top hoods.

All bushings are no lube, non-metallic bushings
To reduce maintenance cost and improve reliability, all bushings are Garlock Garfil Bearings.  They have a composite outer shell with a PTFE base liner.  Garfil bearings require no lubrication, yet they offer dynamic load ratings five times that of bronze bushings.

All bearing with remote lubrication fittings (optional)
All needle bearings are connected with a remote lubrication system.  This simplifies preventative maintenance and insures that lube points are not overlooked.  The pillow block and flange mount bearings require no lubrication.  The optional automatic centralized lubrication system can automate this important P.M. task.

Maintenance free pusher slide
The pusher slide has been redesigned using a roller carriage track assembly.  Through lighter I weight, it is much stronger (not breakable iron).  It also requires no grease lubrication and provides years of maintenance free operation.  The drive linkage is also non-lube and self-aligning.

Quality drive components
All shafts are new.  Drive shafts are 108 cold rolled steel with chrome, rust resistant finish.  Threaded shafts are 304 stainless steel.  Preventing rust reduces wear and simplifies maintenance.  All cams are manufactured to exceed the original specifications.  Cam followers are top quality Mc-Gill Camrol.

All new improved top transfer design
The new twin chain pusher design eliminates all wheel runners and pusher adjustments.  No lube Tsubaki Lambda chain resists stretching and reduces maintenance.  The one-piece plastic pushers will not damage heating surfaces and require no adjustment or lubrication.

Left or right hand servo driver crossfeed
The pusher and follower chains have separate servo drives.  This totally eliminates the index cam right angel gears and the single adjustment drive.  The servo drive synchronizes when feeding product.  When adjusting for loaf length the servos move opposite each other.  Should the flight become jammed, the servo torque limit will protect it from damage.
