At the Process / Pack Expo exhibition in Chicago (9 to 13 November 2008), visitors experience the latest CFS innovations that promise lifecycle performance. The CFS RobotLoader is the world’s first complete wash down delta robot. CFS TiroLabel NT, introduced on the CFS PowerPak RT thermoformer for medium-sized capacities, is the first cross web labeller in the world that works entirely without machine interruptions for reloading. These innovations increase operational efficiency – and therefore lower costs.

So far robot loaders were not applicable in the meat and cheese industries. That is why CFS developed together with Sigpack Systems (a Bosch packaging technology company) a dedicated robot loader. Process/Pack Expo visitors will see the CFS RobotLoader in action, using a vision system to identify the location and orientation of each product. A camera is dedicated to each robot; the product is registered against an encoder on the belt to accurately locate and pick the moving product. Especially interesting is the flexibility of the system, which allows different arrangements. Consequently presentation in the pack achieves highest consumer appeal.

CFS PowerPakRT – more flexibility, more performance
With it’s revolutionary machine concept, the CFS thermoformer PowerPakRT is designed to meet the high demands and constantly changing requirements of the market. It sets new standards in terms of performance, process and investment security, cost efficiency and flexibility. This innovative machine concept is tailored to the needs of medium-sized production capacities. It can handle film width of 320, 360, 420, 430, 520 and 560 mm, draw depths up to 130 mm, an index length up to 650 mm and processes up to 150 packs per minute. Moreover the sanitary design of CFS PowerPakRT is certified under ISO 14159, EN 1672, AMI and NSF/USDA 3A.

CFS PowerPakRT has an uncompromising design in accordance with the principles of CFS’s “lifecycle performance” philosophy. This means, from beginning to end, CFS concentrates on all the factors that improve the machine owner’s performance: from support in the development of product innovations, through cost reduction measures, to the enhancement of productivity.

CFS TiroLabelNT:  Label changing without downtime
Downtime for changing label reels or torn backing material is now a thing of the past. CFS TiroLabelNT, the completely new labelling concept offers non-stop performance. It is the first cross web labeller on the market that allows label reels to be changed while the machine is running. The fundamental advantage is the separation of label dispenser and applicator unit into two separate modules.

The smooth servo-motor technology minimizes tearing of label backing paper. The unwinding unit can take reels with a diameter up to 500 mm. Both factors contribute to higher line capacity. The concrete benefit: more efficiency and therefore lower costs.

CFS TiroLabelNT is mounted on the CFS PowerPakRT thermoformer. Thanks to its modular construction it can be upgraded from a basic model to a high-performance solution.

CFS TiroLabelNT is the only labeller in the world with a spring-loaded finger system. This means that even special label shapes can be positioned quickly, securely and accurately, even on irregular surfaces – all this at maximum cycle speed and without damaging the packaging. Achieve 100% uniformly labelled and branded products.

Innovations in safety means that firstly there is the convenient reference drive outside the safety covers. Secondly, cleaning is easy because the label applicator can be decoupled from the machine allowing the applicator unit to be integrated in the cleaning process. Naturally CFS TiroLabelNT also offers the safety features you’ve come to expect from CFS. All hazard-moving parts apart from the label applicator are positioned inside safety guards. It is also the first labeller with a wear-free linear motor.
