Overwrapping Machines
Marden Edwards is best known for its extensive range of envelope end fold Overwrapping machines. Equally at home in the Tobacco, Tea, Confectionery, Cosmetic, Paper, Perfume, Pharmaceutical, Food and Multimedia DVD industries, Overwrapping is the environmentally friendly method of film wrapping for the 21st century.
Overwrapping allows the use of bio-degradable cellophane and starch based films as well as the more established oil based polypropylene wrapping films. Because only a small amount of heat is required to seal the longitudinal and envelope shaped side seals, running costs are reduced compared to the need to use a high energy consuming heat shrink tunnel.
Wide product range
The Marden Edwards range of machines runs from the low cost, entry level Evo-Fold machine for wrapping speeds up to 40 per minute to the WR range of turret overwrappers capable of 300 wraps per minute. The TM range of machines has been especially designed around the needs of the cosmetics and perfume industries to provide outstanding wrap quality. The longitudinal seal is positioned on the trailing edge of the pack and the time taken for a size changeover is less than 10 minutes.
Turnkey projects
Almost as important as the Overwrapping machine itself are the handling systems necessary to feed the products to the wrapping machine and to take them away. Marden Edwards has a large engineering design department to ensure that your machine is supplied with the suitable product feeding equipment, whether this is an in line buffer store, an external collator, a waterwheel 180 degree turnover or simply a conveyor.
Special design
All applications are different and Marden Edwards is dedicated to providing the correct solution. The large engineering department enables special machine design if it is required to wrap the product. This can range from simply tailoring an existing machine in the range to suit the customer’s requirement to a completely new wrapping machine design.
Spares and service back-up
Spares are still provided for all machines ever produced and indeed many early Marden Edwards machines are still in full production. Because Marden Edwards manufactures all it own components, over $ 2 million dollars of stock components are available for immediate dispatch anywhere in the world. Global service is handled by a network of over 50 agents and distributors throughout the world as well as a large pool of engineering technicians located in the main production factories.
