Maintenance / Rebuilding
Faced with busy schedules and rising production costs, today`s printer is constantly looking for ways to improve productivity. Working closely with our customers we have developed preventative maintenance and machine rebuilding programs that help our customers avoid costly down time from unforeseen break downs. Every rebuild thoroughly examines every system in the machine. Parts are replaced or adjusted to make sure the rebuilt splicer meets original factory specifications. Equipment can be built on-site or at our factory.
Most of the country`s biggest printers have already started routinely scheduling annual PM visits by competent Butler field technicians. Busy production schedules often make in plant maintenance impossible on a routine basis. Budget cuts also leave plant personnel unable to fully meet busy maintenance schedules. Our flexible programs allow printers to dramatically improve up-time and minimize downtime from unscheduled splicer problems.

DVG Control Upgrade
Butler Automatic is constantly striving to improve performance and productivity of our installed base of equipment. Due to breakthroughs in technology, we have been able to introduce our DVG Control Upgrade, to replace PD and VG style controls. The DVG control upgrade replaces pneumatic components that are worn out or contaminated by oil in air lines, provides dual brake transducers for easier calibration, provides older splicers with current technology and components, and reduces parts inventory requirements, as DVG upgrades and current splicers use the same components. The DVG control can be installed by Butler factory service personnel very efficiently, minimizing production downtime.
Pneumatic Clutch Upgrade
Technology constantly changes. What was new technology even five years ago has been rendered obsolete today. In the ever continuing effort to maximize uptime, and decrease the incidence of mechanical failure, Butler Automatic, Inc. introduces the pneumatic clutch upgrade.
The Butler pneumatic clutch upgrade has been proven in field installations to significantly improve splicer performance. This upgrade replaces the existing magnetic particle clutch with a pneumatic clutch. The upgrade is able to bring your Butler splicer back to its original factory rated speed, and protects against possible obsolescence of the existing magnetic particle clutch. Butler splicers are built to last indefinitely. This fact has led our splicers to outlive old press maximum speed ratings in many cases. This upgrade gives our customers an economical way to increase speeds and thereby increase overall plant productivity.
Vector Drive Speed Enhancement Upgrade
Faced with busy schedules and rising production costs, today`s printer is constantly looking for ways to improve productivity. Working closely with our customers we have developed the performance plus vector drive upgrade to significantly improve the productivity and reliability of your Butler splicers.
The Butler vector drive upgrade has been proven in numerous field installations to dramatically improve splicer performance. This upgrade replaces the existing magnetic particle clutch with a vector drive, and the pull roll with a low inertia carbide coated pull roller. The vector drive delivers deceleration to eliminate inertia from the pull roll during the splice cycle and more torque at consistent levels during acceleration. Butler splicers are built to last indefinitely. This fact has led our splicers to outlive old press maximum speed ratings in many cases. This upgrade gives our customers an economical way to increase splicer and press speed and thereby increase overall plant productivity.
