Biography

John Chomistek has served in the Packaging Industry since graduating from the Michigan State University School of Packaging in 1978.

Mr. Chomistek has designed protective and marketing driven package design systems for four different industries - Consumer Electronics, Medical Diagnostics, Beverage, and Mechanics tools. He has expert knowledge levels in the following areas: shipping test simulations/analysis, statistical package and equipment qualifications and specifications, protective package design and package design as a marketing strategy.

He began investigating and implementing statistical mold and process capability programs in 1988 when a capability based mold qualification program was designed and implemented for Boehringer Mannheim’s Diabetic home blood monitoring system division (now Roche Diagnostics).

John earned his MBA at Butler University in 1991. Mr. Chomistek opened his own consulting company, Pak Edge Solutions, prior to joining DS Waters (formerly Suntory Water Group). During that time, Mr. Chomistek published a popular local monthly technical newsletter in Dallas called ``Dino-Mite Packaging News`` that promoted new packaging technologies available to Dallas area Packaging Professionals.

At Suntory Water Group (SWG), John Chomistek is in charge of the companies packaging effort with an emphasis on securing high quality levels for corporate packaging from both suppliers and finished product produced by SWG plants. At SWG, John has designed and implemented an automated Defective Materials Report process, an on-line specifications library and new equipment validations programs to qualify both new and existing production lines.
